Medical Aspects
In times of economically weakness some breeders save money where ever they can. This mostly goes to loads of the horse health. It is our breeding aim to produce high quality, healthy foals and does everything, that they have an optimum life opening for a later sporting career. We consequently use the contents teaches in the seminars of the Hanoverian association. So we are able to hold our horses after criteria which usually are practised by international racing horse breeders. We do not know the sentence: we always have "that so done and nothing is edged“ at it. We always want the best for our animals and are opened for new ideas and also realise them.
Veterinarian
In many stalls, their only functions is as paramedics or work in an emergency room. Our veterinarian is guarantor with us for a strong animal health.
Vaccinations
The horses / broodmares will be vaccinated 2 times a year after the basic immunization against tetanus, herpes and influenza, if necessary against EAV. Foals get on their first day of life the "foal vaccination". Later on if the immune system is antibody they are vaccinated against the above mentioned illnesses reason immunizes.
Against Parasites
We relatively invest much time and money into the health of our horses. There it is only obvious that we do not want to feed parasites. Anti-worm medicine is mostly effective against adult worms only in the intestine and does not reach the other growth stages of the parasites. Some worms need for their development from the egg up to the ready worm up to 9 months. In this development stages the larvae also take place in inner organs of the horses. The larvae can occur here by a strong worm attack serious illness, for example bad liver values and physical reductions. We know the weight of our mares and they get cream against worms all 3 months with changing active substances. Another worm cream is given after the birth of the foals, to reduce the worm eggs in the milk. Foals get their first anti worm cream in the age of 9 days, after that each month. This reduces the diarrhoeas and strengthened the foals. To the control the success, excrements are examined regularly.
Blood-analyses
In the 7 th in foal month a laboratory will check the blood of our mares. Organ illnesses would have determined here early. Primarily, they are valid to the control the care with minerals and trace elements however. Here, you have to know, no lack will appear at calcium and protein for example. Important is however
Manganese - it is construction mineral for bones and teeth. An unbalanced relationship between calcium, phosphorus and magnesium can evoke lime storages in the cartilage of the unborn foal or the foal can be born with weak bones.
Zinc, Selen, Manganese. Theses minerals are important for the immune-system, skin, hooves, fur, fertility and metabolism processes.
